Experiencing Diwali - The Festival of Lights from India

This morning, Le Mao students had a chance to explore the most important festival of the year in India – Diwali festival with Indian students from Maharaja Agarsain Public School.

Diwali, also called Deepavali, is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". Diwali is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar months of Ashvin (according to the amanta tradition) and Kartika - between around mid-September and mid-November . In 2024, it is on Thursday, October 31st. The celebrations last five or six days.

Moreover, we can meet Mr Narender – an Indian yoga teacher, who is working in Vietnam for a long time talk about their main festival. We can actually do and feel when looking at the lighting candles, listening to the meaning of the light.
